Minimum mass, maximum stability: That’s what sports car drivers want. And the new BBS wheel design named FI-R brings along these qualities. With its world premiere, the premium wheel manufacturer from Schiltach in the Black Forest once again sets an exclamation mark in the field of ultra-lightweight forged wheels. Innovative material wrapped in a sporty design of five distinctive Y-spokes: Forged out of alloys from aerospace engineering, the FI-R wheel from the BBS Forged Line represents a further development of the FI design. Flow forming ensures an optimization of the internal well of the FI-R. In addition, unnecessary materials are removed completely during back milling. An additional weight saving is achieved by breakthroughs in the spokes. The special recesses in the spokes are at the same time a design element that make this wheel a BBS innovation on the market. Lightness and rigidity therefore characterize the youngest member of the BBS family.

Figures that speak for themselves: An FI-R wheel for the Porsche 991 GT3, mounted on the front axle in the dimension 9x 20 inches, weighs in at just around 7.9 kilograms. The counterpart in 12 x 20 inches for the rear axle weighs only 9.2 kilograms with a wheel load of 620 kilograms.

With its FI-R design, premium wheel manufacturer BBS mainly has performance-oriented sports car drivers in mind. Applications are therefore first the Porsche 991 GT3 as well as the BMW models M3 and M4. The FI-R wheel with TÜV certificate is available in platinum silver and satin black  as well as polished ceramic as an option in the following dimensions: 9.5 x 19, 10.5 x 19, 9.5 x 20 and 10.5 x 20 inches as well as 9.0 x 20 and 12 x 20 inches with centre lock. Compatibility with the current tire pressure monitoring systems is provided.
